Water-cooled Flexible Thermal Cables for Induction Furnaces
Water-cooled cables (commonly called water cables) are specialized hollow cables designed for high-current heating equipment in metallurgical applications. These cables typically consist of three main components: electrode (cable head), conductor, and outer protective sleeve.
Standard vs. High-Quality Construction
Standard Water-Cooled Cables:
Electrode: Welded copper pipe and copper bar construction with poor equipment connection
Conductor: Bare copper wire with large bending radius
Protective sleeve: Ordinary rubber hose with low pressure resistance
Fastening: Standard clamps with poor sealing, prone to leaks
Premium Water-Cooled Cables:
Electrode: Solid copper bar with precision turning/milling, passivated or tinned surface
Conductor: Tinned copper stranded wire or enameled wire woven by CNC winding machine
High flexibility with small bending radius
Protective sleeve: Reinforced synthetic rubber pipe with cloth clamping layer for high pressure resistance
Fastening: Cold extruded with red copper clamps on professional equipment for superior sealing
